Q: I purchased a Suncast hose reel pot and cannot get the reel out of the pot to connect the hose. What are my options.
A: Please take the whole cover off of the pot so you can see the black latch. Because you need to have to remove the latch to remove the hose. You can also call Sunsact part group at 800-444-3110 if you need additional help.

Q: I am looking to buy your LGP-704 Wall mount garden hose reel. I will be mounting it to a block wall. Does it come with the mounting hardware? If not what is the needed to mount it securely?
A: The LGP-704 does not come with mounting hardware as there is no universal bolt for every surface type. The hole size is 0.44”, therefore customer needs to find hardware that is smaller than that. As far as the length, it is best to ask local hardware store, as they will have better expertise on what length goes best with what surface.

Manual rewind hose reels do not come full of hose, some auto rewind hose reels however do come with hose. Manual rewind hose reels; include the 4' inlet hose to connect the reel to the water faucet, source.

I was interested in the PW134-RR reel. I know that the inlet hose is not included. Is the Swivel inclued? If so what type of conection is needed on the inlet hose(male or female)?
The swivel is included, and has a 3/8" Female NPT fitting. You will want a jumper hose that has a 3/8" Male NPT fitting to connect to the brass swivel. The other end of the hose should match the fitting on the pressure washer itself (3/8" or 22mm typically).

Why would I want a perpendicular hose reel?
The perpendicular reel is designed to mount to the building and have hose pull out perpendicular to (away from) the building.

Why would I want a parallel hose reel?
The parallel reel is designed to mount to the building and have hose pull out parallel to (along side) the building.

How to empty ( get all water out ) the garden hose reel for winter?
Simply disconnect the inlet hose from the water spigot, and open any spray nozzle, or remove it from the hose. The water will slowly drain out of the hose. You may also pull your hose off of the reel, and wind it back in at this point to help displace some of the water in the hose. Most of the water will drain out, however you may still have some residual water in the hose.

What are the differences between the RR and PD series?

The RR series reels mount with a 3 1/2" square plate that is permanently welded to the reel. All the weight is concentrated in this 3 1/2" square hole pattern. The PD series reels mount with a wall plate that is drilled to fit 16" stud walls. This more evenly dispersed the weight of the reel across a larger area for a more secure mounting. Also, the PD reel can be removed from the wall plate for winter storage. The RR series would have to be completely unbolted to be stored, leaving holes in the building.

How long is the inlet hose?
Most hose reels have 4 feet long inlet hose.

What is the composition of the hoses? The fittings? The reels?
Hoses are EPDM rubber with spiral synthetic yarn reinforcement. Fittings are all solid brass.

How does automatic hose reel rewind work?

Auto rewind garden hose reels

Are garden fittings standard sizes?
Yes all fittings on the garden hose reels are standard 5/8" garden hose fittings.

How do I mount the wall mount hose reel properly to my wood siding?
If mounting through siding or any wood frame wall, you should always mount to the studs. You will have to use a stud finder, or other means to locate the studs. Our wall plates are pierced at 16" centers. 2-1/2" x 5/16" Lag screws are preferable. Be sure to use a 1/8" or 5/32" drill bit to make pilot holes for the lag screws.

Do you make a 24" on center stud mounting plate for your PD Series; my Garage is 24" on center?
You would have to use a 2001.040 stud wall plate, and then an RR series reel, which would pull off Perpendicular to the wall.

How do I mount the reel properly to brick or stone?
We will refer you to the Brick Industry Association technical note 44A. You may be able to access it from the web at http://www.brickinfo.org/pdfs/44a.pdf. It appears for most applications a "Sleeve Anchor" (figure 6) attached to either mortar or brick will do. We would suggest a 1/4" Sleeve Anchor installed in the mortar. It would be best if you were able to put one in each of the six holes. The reel would be considered a "heavy" "fixture weight" in Table #1.

What gauge steel are the reels made of?
7-16 gauge steel used on garden hose reels

What is the difference between the parallel (PL) and the perpendicular (PD) reels?
A Standard Wall Reel positions your garden hose so it pulls perpendicular (PD), or away from, the wall. A Side Wall Reel positions your garden hose so it pulls parallel (PL), or along the side, of the wall. These directional options give you flexibility of use.

How are the reels finished?
For metal construction hose reels all finishes consist of a TGIC polyester powder-coat paint, which is baked on to the steel at 400 degrees for years of service.

I recently bought the PL series. I need to buy the wall plate mounting hardware (screws). What size and type screw do you recommend?
